Everyone Loves a Blog
Everyone wants a blog these days and there's certainly no shortage of blog software out there. We have recognized the need for our own "news list" to evolve into a full fledged blog and we are almost ready to release it.
What makes the Clover Content blog special is how easy it will be to implement. Like our other features, you will only need 2 lines of PHP or ASP.Net code to have a blog on your existing or new site.
It will still be simple but now it will cover all of the essential blog functionality: 1) list posts new to old 2) provide permalinks to posts, 3) provide pagination/archiving 4) provide RSS feeds for the posts.
We'll let you know when the new blog is out.

Clover Launched (Whoo Hoo!)
Well, we promised a realease on December 1st and sure enough, we're a little early. Clover is available for public consumption! It's been a long year developing Clover and we're only getting started.
You can now create a Clover account and find out just how easy this simple cms is. Please give us a try if you are looking for a simple content management system.
We will be adding many new features in the future. We are already working improving the news list to work more like a traditional blog. Also in development is a clean Javascript client library.
Thank you for you interest in Clover Content.

Web Designer Friendly
In order to make Clover more useful and convenient for web professionals, we are developing a Dreamweaver extension that will allow HTML developers to easily drag and drop Clover client code onto web pages.
Our goal is to provide an easy to use interface where developers will only need to add an id string to each component and drop it on the page. Making Clover as easy to use as possible is our goal and this is one more step in pursuit of that goal.

Some Important Dates
One of the most difficult aspects of deploying a software project is projecting release dates. But, things are going well with Clover and because of this, we are pleased to announce 2 very important dates.
On November 1st, we will be opening our beta test to a second phase. During this beta phase, we will be contacting those who have signed up for our email list to try out Clover for one site free. That's free for as long as those testers would like to use Clover for a single site.
And the most important date, December 1st, will be the official release of Clover Content to the wild. We are working hard to get Clover ready for it's debut and we think our users will be very happy with it.
So stay tuned, and if you have signed up for our email list, you will be hearing from us soon regarding the second phase of our beta test.
We would also like to thank a wonderful service that we have used throughout the creation of Clover. It's called Assembla and it has been a great resource for us in managing source code, milestones and issues. If you're managing a software project, check out Assembla.

Content Hosting
One of the goals of Clover is to not merely act as a content management system for web sites, but rather, a content service. We are starting off with web site content management, but if you understand how Clover works, you'll understand how much more it can do.
Our architecture allows us to host any kind of content and deliver it to any client. Theoretically, you could create ads in content regions (not currently allowed by our TOS) and serve them up via javascript on some network of sites.
Another use for content hosting would be to write articles in Clover and have a network of relevant sites pull the articles down from our system instead of copying and pasting. This way the articles could change on all of the clients dynamically if necessary.
Just some thoughts one future uses of Clover Content.

Getting Closer to Wider Release
As you can tell by our lack of sign up form, we are not accepting new users for a breif time. We had a limited private beta and it filled up. We are currently trying to nail down some final details like, what our hosting infrustructure needs to look like, setting up our payment system and making sure all of the kinks are worked out of the product.
Once these issues have been dealt with, we will be ready for a full public launch. We anticipate a full release in early November.

geeks who care
For anyone who is interested in the underlying principles that Clover is built on, it's called SOA. Services Oriented Architecture, that is.

Setting Up Private Beta Accounts
We are setting up another round of private beta accounts this week. Once they are all set up and we re-evaluate our server configuration, we will start adding another block of beta users. We are adding new accounts slowly at this point in order to spend some time making sure our infrustructure is able to handle the load. By adding users slowly, we are able to monitor it more closely. Once we get a better feel for our system and work out any kinks, we'll add more private beta accounts. Pretty soon we'll be able to open the application up to the public, but we're not quite there just yet.
